Life in the NHS

There are a number of media people who would like nothing more but for the UK to fail at the job of hosting a successful London Olympics. Living in reasonably close proximity as I do to our capital city, I receive the London news as my local bulletins and the flow is pretty  much continuous. Businesses have had to  move from the site of the stadium, the cost of the Olympics is going to be too large, security is not going to be good enough, people are going to be affected by traffic delays during the games. You might be forgiven then for thinking that these people actually don’t want a successful Olympics. No wonder the Australians call us Winging  Poms!!

london-2012.gifThe latest mess of course is the logo. Not sure I think it is the best that could have been done, and the video which has just been released then partly withdrawn apparently causes epilepsy. I have the terrible feeling though, that this is just something else for these miserable people to climb on another band waggon about. It is an amazing achievement having been awarded the Olympics. There are kids out there already training harder so that they have the chance to compete. The work on the events sites seems to be progressing well (the BBC London news says little about this because they have nothing so far to complain about on that score) and I for one am looking forward to seeing the Olympics in 2012.  Perhaps they should do something about the logo, but no doubt we’ll get used to it, and lets just get on with getting ready for one of the greatest events in the history of London!!
