I guess I am now officially middle aged. I don’t really feel any different than I did when I was 35 or 25 (well not that I can remember and I don’t think I am losing too many brain cells yet)! It is however strange to be in my mid forties, I guess I might even grow up and act my age soon (heaven forbid). I still love birthdays and especially my own even if the number of cards received has fallen over the years. In my family August is quite a busy month, with my nephew on 3rd, my mum on 5th and me on 6th, add to that my mum and dad’s wedding anniversary on 8th then it is a pretty busy, expensive (but fun) week or so. Yesterday my mum chose Chinese for her celebratory meal, one of those eat as much as you might like to eat affairs. This was not what my diet needed, but it was great fun. With that and the racing night on Friday, I am getting a little worried about exactly how much weight I will have lost by Wednesday when I go to get weighed. I think if I lose a pound or two I will have done well. No birthday cake for me today, and that is why there is no cake picture on this post!

Tomorrow teenage son returns from France. something I am really looking forward to. I hope he has enjoyed the experience of being in France, working and having fun. No doubt by this time tomorrow the fridge will be being raided and  my ears will be being blasted with his unique taste in music.
