The teenager of this house is home. Almost 4 weeks in France, 9 days of which were with us have come to and end and it seems he and his cousin have had a wonderful time. They have worked hard on a house renovation, I can tell this from the emails from our friends in France, the stories he has told me in the 24 hours or so since his return and from the fact that he now has muscles on his upper arms. Something he is quite rightly proud of. He has also managed to get paint on at least half the clothes he took with him, including some brand new ones. Wearing the same shorts doesn’t seem to have occurred to him, but well lets face it he is a man! Since his return he has declared himself hungry almost continuously, and today he has eaten 2 rather large meals. At over 6 feet tall, I am hoping that there is no growth spurt on the way. He now has the final Harry Potter in his possession so I expect I won’t see too much of him for the next couple of days. But the presence of him is here, and that is pretty much normality.
I have been for the fat club weigh in and so far so good. Despite a nights racing which involved the consumption of several large glasses of wine and an evening in a Chinese restaurant, I have lost 2lb. Lots still to go, but it is most definitely a start. Progress down (and up) will be charted because this time I am determined.
